CG CM Baghel, Cabinet to meet Prime Minister Modi over paddy procurement issues, CM ask CS writes to PMO for an appointment with PM.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with his Cabinet will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise the latter about issues concerning farmers and labourers. Chief Minister Baghel has asked Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain to get an appointment with the Prime Minister.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, in a letter to the Prime Minister Office, has mentioned that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and the entire Cabinet wants to discuss some important issues like paddy procurement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hence, it is requested to grant an appointment to meet the Prime Minister.

Chief Secretary Jain also mentioned that paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh is carried out at minimum support price in Kharif season according to MoU signed with the Government of India under the Centre's Decentralised Procurement Programme.

In the current Kharif market year-2021-22, according to the directions of the Food Department, Government of India, cent per cent Arva rice has been procured under the central pool of Chhattisgarh whereas last year procurement of Usna rice was also allowed.

Jain said the aforementioned directions Government of India will create livelihood problems for labourers and operators of 416 Usna rice mills in the state. Along with this, such farmers who grow paddy which could only be made into Usna rice can also face issues.

Even the gunny bags aren't being supplied to Chhattisgarh by Jute Commissioner. In this regard, Chhattisgarh CM and his Cabinet Minister want to meet with the Prime Minister. Thus, it is requested to grant appointment time with the PM.
