IAS Suspend: State Government revokes suspension of gold smuggling accused Principal Secretary

Suspension of beleaguered Principal Secretary M Sivasankar, an IAS-1995 Batch, has been revoked by the Kerala Government. M Sivasankar is one of the accused persons in the sensational gold-smuggling case.

M Sivasankar was a principal secretary at the office of the Chief Minister of Kerala. He had been suspended following a seizure of 30 kilograms of gold worth Rs 14.82 crores two years ago. The Gold was being smuggled through the United Arab Emirates (UAE) consulate in Thiruvanthapuram by the Customs Department.

M Sivasankar was linked to the main accused in the case, Swapna Suresh. Sivasankar has been reinstated on the recommendation of Kerala Chief Secretary VP Joy.
