Aiming at checking corruption in bureaucracy, Central Vigilance Commission directed the Union Ministries and other Government agencies to thoroughly investigate each complaint of corruption against government officials to figure out any systematic loopholes that may have caused wrongdoings by the accused officials.
In the CVC Guidelines, it has been directed that the outcomes of the investigation could be utilized to bring about necessary rectification or improvement to prevent any such future infractions. The guidelines also stress upon Union Government Departments prepare case studies explaining the modus operandi of those indicted the corruption cases and the corrective measures taken to fix the irregularities thereby should be circulated among officials for education purposes.
The CVC Guidelines further reads that the complaints against government officials shouldn't be out of malaise or motivated and should be based on genuine substantiated facts. The Chief Vigilance Officer of the concerned Department shall meticulously examine the complaint.
