In a bid to promote innovation & research, Guru Ghasidas Central University and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India signed an important MoU on Wednesday.
University acting rajistrar Suraj Kumar Mehar and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad Director-General Dr. Sunil Shukla signed the MoU.
University's Vice-Chancellor professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal presided over the MoU signing function. Speaking on the occasion, Chakarwal said it's a historic day for the University. The day will be remembered with pride in future. Emphasizing change in mentality for entrepreneurship development, he necessitates Courage, Coordination, Cooperation, Positivity and Creativity.
Vice-Chancellor also said that EDII is a one-of-a-kind institution in the world. He wants to create awareness in not just the university but in Chhattisgarh. There is no dearth of courage and industriousness in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states like Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. They only need to create awareness.
Vice-Chancellor said he doesn't just want to educate the students but also make them capable and proficient, psychologically strong entrepreneurs who would not demand but create jobs. This is just the beginning, but a good one. Addressing the teachers, Vice-Chancellor said all of you have the capacity, power and potential. All of you need to become motivators to bring about the change. He also cited examples of skill, wit, discretion and decision-making aptitude of famous industrialists, who went from rag to riches.
The chief guest of the event, Dr Sunil Shukla said the MoU will provide an opportunity to work with the youth in the field. There is unlimited potential for development in the field of entrepreneurship, we need to accumulate this potential.
He said innovation is not possible in every business, but there is an immense possibility of skill development, value addition, and trade. They are already working in many fields in Chhattisgarh. This is a congenial time for entrepreneurship development in the nation. Professor Shukla also informed about government schemes like Mudra Yojana, Start-up India, Stand-up India grants.
Assistant Professor EDII Dr. Amit Dwivedi talked in detail about departments, facilities and programmes available in the Indian Entrepreneurship Development Institution.
