BIG EXPOSURE TO CHHATTISGARH, RUINED SLEEP, YOGA GURU, WHY SUBRAT IS CS?, MISSED THE PROMOTION TRAIN

What would you say when Chhattisgarh Chief Minister gets an opportunity to present awards to Raipur Mayor, Urban Secretary and Commissioners? Matter of Pride! President Ramnath Kovind was the chief guest at the Swacchta award programme organized at Vigyan Bhawan of Delhi on Saturday. Union Urban Administration Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was presiding over the event. Since Chhattisgarh was about to get an award for the best clean city of the nation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister was given a seat by the President. When the President of India left after presenting the main awards, Union Minister Puri also had to go to some other programme. So, it was decided why not the Chief Minister of the cleanest state present the awards. Chhattisgarh Around 50 cities got awards at the hands of the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister. After all, it was Chhattisgarh that dominated the award ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan. Along with the award for the cleanest state, Chhattisgarh bagged awards in several other categories. On top of that Chhattisgarh CM not just received, but also doled out awards to others.
RUINED SLEEP
Like every occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had shown up at Mahadev Ghat on Kartik Purnima. As per the itinerary, his advisor Pradeep Sharma reached the Chief Minister residence at 4 am. As the CM convoy set off to Mahadev Ghat at 4.02 am, many Congress leaders with sleepy eyes also became a part of CM's convoy. Two of the leaders were those, who never wakes up before 9 am. Now when they had to get fit in camera frame while taking a dip with Chief Minister at Mahadev Ghat, poor chaps stayed awake all night. As someone asked, hey, you too? What to say, we aren't the Dau. If we had slept once, it would have been impossible to wake up in the morning. So, they spent the night watching television. After that when media asked Chief Minister how could he wake up so early and come to bathe. CM replied, "When there was no car, even then he used to come to Mahadev Ghat at 4 am for Kartik Purnima bath from Patan after a 15-day long journey on a bullock cart. Now he is in Raipur and there is convenience"
YOGA GURU
All India Services officers pay special attention to fitness, but Bilaspur IG Ratanlal Dangi has gone one step beyond. Now, wherever he goes out on inspection, he makes police personnel practice Yoga there. Recently, he was in Janjgir, where he was doing meditation much like Baba Ramdev's style. He got police officers to do Yoga for over one hour.
WHY SUBRAT IS CS?
With the change of DGP, media began speculating change in Chief Secretary. News circling on media suggested Amitabh Jain will be replaced by ACS to CM Subrat Sahoo. But the question is, why will Amitabh be removed and why will Subrat want to be the CS?
1992-Batch IAS Subrat Sahoo will retire in 2028, which means he still has seven years of service tenure left. No stays CS for such a long time. Becoming CS right now means, the last phase of service will be spent in secluded places like Revenue Board. Even if there is good chemistry with the government, the countdown will start after three years. P Job Ommen and Vivek Dhand are examples. Subrat is posted on just any other place, he is CM's ACS. Unless Amitabh gets hit wicket, he would comfortably spend the entire 2022. It's possible, he may go to the Government of India after completing three years as the CS. His retirement is scheduled for 2025. Only then some will happen, but right now nothing much seems to be happening.
SSP IN GARIYABAND
The five 2008-Batch IPS Officers that got selection grade also includes Parul Mathur and Prashant Agrawal. Parul is Gariyaband SP and Prashant Agrawal is Raipur SP. Selection grade means they have now become SP to SSP. It means now Gariyaband will also have an SSP. Usually, SSP is posted in a big district. Ajit Jogi Government had made Mukesh Gupta the first SSP Raipur after the formation of Chhattisgarh. After Mukesh, DM Awasthi and Ashok Juneja were made SSP during Raman Singh Government. Thereafter, many names were added to the list. Though, 2007-Batch IPS Jitendra Meena remained SSP at a small district like Balod. After that, he got a leap and he is presently Jagdalpur SSP. So, it may be understood that Parul would also get a big district.
MISSED THE PROMOTION TRAIN
2008-Batch's five out of six IPS Officers got selection grades along with the promotion. But, Rajnandgaon SSP Shravan Garg's name was left out. Shravan's AC couldn't reach. It's strange despite the promotion coming 11 months late, the ACR of some SP still missed out. Surprisingly, he couldn't take care of ACR despite being an SP. A top officer of the Home Department told that he too will get a promotion once his ACR will be received.
SECRETARY ON ROAD
PWD Secretary Siddhartha Pardeshi took a road journey from Katghora to Ambikapur to take stock of roads in the state. He was accompanied entire staff of ENC. Till now, he would just call the field officers to Raipur for the meeting of PWD and even if he had to go to Jashpur, Pathalgaon, Pardeshi would take the route via Saraipali, Odisha. But, he was accompanied by Secretary on this occasion, so the officers had to compellingly deal with the dilapidated roads of the Patthalgaon area.
